Java Architect / Senior Developer is a growing fintech that helps businesses to manage payments with digital accounts and debit cards, supporting a range of payment services all accessible via a powerful API. is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland as a Payment Institution under the Payment Services Regulations, 2018.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Java Architect / Senior Developer to join our team at a time of huge growth for the business. The ideal candidate should have the following skills and experience:

You will be responsible for the overall architecture of the existing application. This is a modular Spring Java application hosted in AWS supporting thousands of business and personal accounts, debit cards and an API across web and mobile channels. Architecting from the conceptual level down through the application architecture level for new initiatives, you will provide advice and present solutions to stakeholders at different levels within the organization. For features that utilize new or unfamiliar technologies, coding practices, or languages you will develop prototypes and create standards which result in a simple, extendable and scalable architecture.

Leadership and Planning
As the recognized subject matter expert, you will lead the planning, design and implementation of all technical solutions. You will mentor and guide other team members during all phases of the SDLC, providing direction to project team leads and reviewing designs.

You will be responsible for the continued development and maintenance of the architecture models, SDLC and technology roadmaps. You will review of development and testing activities to ensure architecture vision is being followed.

Continuous Improvement
You will analyse metrics and processes to identify potential areas for improvement and/or refactoring. You will research and assess emerging technologies and recommend technologies that can simplify development, reduce effort, or solve problems that are creating defects in current systems.

You should have the following:

  • BSc/MSc degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Your most recent 3 years’ experience should be in a similar role
